Humming Bird Awards 2022
Narration
When I was a boy, I only knew of a few national parks from textbooks. Apart from them, we tended to see nature as something that existed in the distant countryside, which was not much fun. But there is now. I am all grown up and visiting all these parks in the country, with a purpose and goals- to preserve and conserve what we have in the country. Nature will not be allowed to die out; I need it to stay alive for our children and grandchildren too. By joining Nature Kenya, I have been able to help maintain our natural environment in a better condition. Every year, Nature Kenya organizes a wide range of activities to promote awareness of conservation issues and protect our nature treasures. As part of the Samaki Working group and Nature Kenya, we recently took part in an exhibition to highlight the significance of wetlands in urban areas. It allowed people to observe and appreciate the beauty of our wetlands, which are more than just pools for fish: these areas contain so much more than that. We have a responsibility to take care of it.
