I am member of Vijana Twaweza Club together with other thirty-nine members we are trying to solve issues caused by inadequate food in Kakuma refugee camp through fish farming, crickets farming, crops production and fruit trees planting. In November 2020 we were able to distribute fruit to tree to a group of youth In Kakuma refugee camp and we are still monitoring them and advising them on how to make fruit trees survive. We have at the other planted different fruit trees in our areas such lemon, dragon fruits, passion fruit, apple, mango and water melons. Situated in a semi-arid area, Kakuma at large has some few trees such neem trees and prosopis juliflora. Today remaining trees are in danger because of deforestation. Vijana Twaweza Club soon is going to start sessions with leaders and some members of the community in Kakuma to promote afforestation through permaculture philosophy.
