When I was 5 years old, I loved going to the lake for some boat ride during the weekends. One day we were barred from accessing the boat riding areas, I was disappointed and wanted to know why we couldn’t be allowed to enter the area. I asked my mom why and she told me the authority has decided to deny access to the area because of the risen water level making the shores unsafe. Going back home I was asking myself how to prevent that from happening. My curiosity led me to start reading more on what causes the abnormal rise and fall of water levels in the water bodies. I discovered that climate change is the course of the rising water levels in Lake Victoria, I also learnt that it is not only responsible for rising waters but also causes floods, drought, famine, destruction of properties and sometimes leads to loss of life. Since then I have been trying to look for solution to solve climate change and related issues, I have grown into the climate space and developed passion to spearhead change to combat and mitigate climate change. I have lead projects, campaigns, strikes, movements and activism. I founded a Community Based Organization that brings together youths and children volunteers.
